Yahoo Users Experiencing Problems Signing Into Mail - How To Fix

Users of Yahoo started reporting issues of not being able to access their mail account on Tuesday. If your one that is having trouble logging in Yahoo has posted how to fix the problem in their Help Center. The fix applies to users of iPhones, Androids and those who access their mail from their PC or Mac.

The problem stems from Yahoo now requiring a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection to their platform, in essence beefing up security. Yahoo made the following announcement on their Facebook page earlier Tuesday:

“As we posted last week, Yahoo takes security very seriously and is working to protect your inbox. We’re shutting down non-SSL access to Yahoo Mail via POP and SMTP starting today.”

This followed by:

“We’re aware some users are unable to access Yahoo Mail and apologize for any inconvenience. You can continue accessing your Mail via tablet or Smartphone, and we are working now to try and restore all access in the next few hours.”

However users of those devices commented they were still having the problem.

The changes by Yahoo are in effort to increase security. Recently both Google and Facebook have made announcements of user log-in information being hacked.
