It has been announced today that the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe has sent a ritual offering to the controversial Yasukuni Shrine today. Additionally, several major Japanese politicians, including a cabinet minister, have announced that they intended to visit the shrine this Friday. With the recent 68th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in the Pacific, Japan has again become embroiled in controversy stemming from the war.
