Home-cooking continues to be the trend of this year’s Western Conference Finals, as the Spurs dominated the Thunder in San Antonio Thursday night, 117-89. After two blowout losses in Oklahoma City tied the series, the Spurs’ bench helped tip the series’ scale in their favor. San Antonio’s bench-brigade outscored Oklahoma City’s bench, 55-26. Facing an early 15-point deficit Saturday night against the Pacers, the Heat didn’t panic and eventually dominated the Pacers in the second half en route to a 99-87 victory. The Heat lead the series 2-1, and are now only two wins away from their fourth consecutive trip to the NBA Finals. The Pacers wanted it, and now they got it, a rematch against the Heat. Unlike last year, though, if this year’s matchup between these two teams goes seven games, the deciding game will be played in the Circle City instead of the Heat’s haven in South Beach. The last 14 matchups between the Heat and Pacers have been split down the middle, with both teams winning seven games. It appears that a simple fishing trip a few Indiana Pacer players took last week has paid major dividends for their play on the court. After barely beating the below five-hundred Atlanta Hawks in a seven game first round series, the Pacers have surged out to a 3-1 series lead against the Washington Wizards in the second round thanks to a 19 point come back in game four Sunday night in D.C.
