Meat Industry Fury as WHO Classes Processed Meat with Tobacco

For many people, having sausages, a ham sandwich or other processed meat products is just a normal part of life.  But according to the World Health Organisation report released on Monday, eating processed meat products increases the risk of getting cancer while unprocessed red meat may also be carcinogenic or cancer-causing. More Arm Moles Can Predict Skin Cancer

A new study has shown that people with more than eleven moles on one of their arms may have a higher than average risk of getting skin cancer or melanoma.  Counting the number of moles on the arm has been found to be a good indicator of the total number of moles on the body and those with over one hundred are five times as likely to get the cancer. Lowering Blood Pressure under 120 Reduces Risks of Heart Disease

Recent findings from a study by the National Institutes of Health has shown that it can be worthwhile treating patients whose blood pressure falls into the ‘grey zone’ between 120 and 140 often referred to as the pre-hypertension area. New Vaccine for Malaria Gets Green Light

The first ever vaccine for malaria has passed on of its final hurdles in the course of being approved for use in Africa.  The European Medicines Agency gave it a green light following scientific checks into its safety and effectiveness and means it can continue on its course to full approval. Virus Could Help Cure Some Deafness Says New Study

Scientists have announced they have taken significant steps toward being able to treat some types of deafness after a new study showed they had been able to restore hearing in some animals.
