Dow Sees Turbulent Day after China Economic Problems

It was a very turbulent day for US stocks yesterday as the Dow saw an unprecedented 1,000 point decline when the market opened on Monday and finished the end of the day with a loss of almost 600 points.  Much of the problems come from fears about the economic slowdown in China though a comeback nearly managed to restore the losses. Bank of America cuts 540 asset servicing jobs

Bank of America (BofA) Wednesday laid off 540 employees at its Legacy Asset Servicing division in Charlotte, according to the bank’s spokesperson Dan Frahm. It is the biggest layoff in the banking sector since 2009 in the Queen City. The job cuts have impacted at least 60 percent of employees at the division's office located in Charlotte of North Carolina. The employees have been served a 60 days’ notice, the spokesperson said. AT&T Opting DirectTV Deal at $48.5 Billion

In a move guaranteed to spark more concern about the cable market AT&T has announced plans for buying Direct TV for $48.5 Billion.
